WCPA Annual Meeting and Board Elections
February 23, 2014
Jay Lavelle opened the meeting with his thoughts as he steps down as Association president. This was followed by reports from the 2013 annual meeting and the treasurer's report. Kristina England then announced the slate of candidates for the WCPA board and the vote was taken.

Inaugurated by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, National Poetry Month is now held every April. Poets and lovers of poetry, throughout the United States band together to celebrate poetry and its vital place in American culture. Thousands of organizations participate through readings, festivals, book displays, workshops, and other events.

the Stanley Kunitz Award
Following Stanley Kunitz's death in 2006 a sum of money was given to the Worcester County Poetry Assocation for the purpose of creating an award in his name. Additional fundraising was needed to support the award. The inaugural award will be presented in 2015.
